You will find Doagh Beach right beside Doagh Famine Village and Kitty Seán’s Kitchen on the Isle of Doagh. The site has plenty of space for parking.
The beach itself is a beautiful, secluded and unspoilt sandy beach with lovely little walks through the sand dunes where you can get spectacular views over the inlet with the Atlantic Ocean waters flowing into Trawbreaga bay, separating this beach from Five Fingers Strand on the other side.
Throughout this area, there are lots of examples of prehistoric monuments such as rock art, and standing stones. Carrickabraghy Castle is also very close to the beach, further up the road.
Swimming is not recommended here due to very dangerous undercurrents and rip tides.
