Four Masters Memorial
The Four Masters Memorial was erected in 1934 and is made from sandstone. On the base are the inscribed names of authors of the Annals of the Four Masters. There is also an inscribed Celtic cross motif and on each other are Celtic interlacing motifs.
The Annals of the Four Masters are the chronicles of medieval Irish history and were written in the Franciscan friary in the town The entries span the time from 2,242 years after creation to 1616 AD. Read more about the Annals here.
