Profile
Inch Castle
The castle is a ruin and was built around 1430 by the Gaelic Irish lord Neachtain O’Donnell for his father-in-law Cahir O’Doherty.
It was originally built when Inch was an island and was considered very secure. It guarded the waters of Lough Swilly and the heartlands of the O’Dohertys land.
The castle is on private land and so is unfortunately inaccessible to the general public. but can be viewed from the causeway of the Inish Wildfowl Reserve.
