Magilligan Point View

The Magilligan Point View sits high above Greencastle, on the scenic Inishowen 100 route, between Greencastle and Tremone.

There is a large car park here with some information boards and it is a great location to stop and stretch your legs while taking in the amazing views from here over where the mouth of Lough Foyle meets the Atlantic Ocean.

On the far shore of the lough, you can see the Magilligan Martello Tower which was built between 1812 and 1817 during the Napoleonic Wars, to guard against possible French invasion.

You can also see all the way to the Binevenagh Plateau, one of the locations of the hit tv show “Game of Thrones” and along the coast towards Portrush in the distance.
