Pollan Bay Beach

Pollan Bay Beach is a fantastic beach in Ballyliffin. with a car park beside it. It is a great long sandy beach and is excellent for walking in.

Right beside the car park in amongst the sand dunes, there is a lovely children’s play park and a wee free library if you would like to have a light read while sunbathing.

At the back of the beach, nestled in the dunes between the beach and the famous Ballyliffen Golf Course there is a great walk all the way along to the 16th century Carrickabraghy Castle. The path is approximately 3 km long.

This is another beach that is used a lot by surfers with great waves at the northern part of the beach. As the beach is so long this part of the beach is best accessed by parking at the car park just past Carrickabraghy Castle.

In April of each year, the 10-mile Ballyliffin International Coastal Challenge race finishes on the beach.
