Ray Cross – Cros Ráithe

This impressive 5.5m high cross stands inside the ruins of Ray Church. It was found broken on the grounds of the graveyard and has been rebuilt inside the old church walls to protect it.

There are no carvings on the cross so it is not able to date although there is a similar example of a cross like this one on the island of Iona in Scotland that dates back to the 8th Century.
