The Steeple – Mullaghagarry Tower
The walk up to The Tower is a scenic 3km (each way ) forest walk with stunning views waiting for you at the top. There is a small car park on the Stranorlar to Letterkenny road
It was originally built in 1810 by astronomer Sir Henry Stewart of the Tircallen Estate as an observatory as it was the highest point on the estate. The estate is now owned by Coillte which also runs Drumboe Woods in nearby Ballybofey.
