Waterfall Trail
The Waterfall Trail is a 3km route (6km return) that starts at the castle and follows the beautiful shores of Lough Veagh up to the Deerstakers Hut at the cascading waters of the Astellen Waterfall.
The waterfall is 215 metres high and the waters flowing from it range from a trickle in dry weather to a raging torrent when there has been heavy rain.
You can also hire bicycles from Grass Routes E-Bike Hire at the Glenveagh National Park visitor centre and cycle to the castle and then continue onwards to the waterfall, the total round trip is around 14km.
You can check out all the latest details from the National park on their Facebook page here.
