This year has been a very tough time for many across the Parish who have suffered personal loss and tragedy through the year. These losses have been endured under conditions that have prevented the community from coming together as we usually would in full love and support with our friends and neighbours, which has made them all that much harder to bear.
The one positive that we can take from 2020 is just how the community has pulled together to help and support each other in whatever ways that we have been able to do safely. We’ve worked together to get through the worst of what’s happened and we will come through all of this as a stronger place.
As 2020 comes to an end, a wide range of sporting, faith and community groups across Moville Parish are coming together in a campaign to Shine a Light across the Parish on New Years Eve at 8pm.
We are asking people right across Moville, Greencastle, Shroove, Carrowmenagh & Lecamy and the whole Parish to light a candle or place a light in your window at 8pm on New Years Eve, 31st December – to stand together as a community in remembering those that we have lost through the year, and in hope and optimism for a better 2021. Whatever the new year brings, we will face it together as a community.
Please join us and Shine a Light for each other at 8pm on New Years Eve.
