Profile
Tour of Inishowen 2020 Hosted by North Pole Cycling Club
Both routes will start and finish from our Headquarters, The Sliabh Sneacht Centre Drumfries Co Donegal (between Buncrana and Carndonagh).
This will be the third year of our new improved 160km route, which takes in the infamous Mamore Gap as early as the 18km Mark. “The Gap” is renowned as one of, if not the toughest climb in Ireland and has been described as such by cycling’s elite as recently as 2017, when it was the highlight of An Post Rás, greeting the riders on stage 4. The 1.8km climb boasting a 14.8% average gradient peaking at a massive 22% is a must for the bucket list of any cyclist.
The 100km route may lack the elevation of the160k route and Mamore gap, but it still has its’ climbs and will undoubtedly take whatever breath you can spare when greeted with the famous breath-taking scenery of the Wild Atlantic Way and Inishowen 100.
