Ardara / Ard an Rátha
Ardara is a small town in South West Donegal next to the Blustack Mountains and the Atlantic Ocean. There are several walking routes from the town including The Bluestack Way a 65km route from the town to Donegal Town. and an 8km walk out to Loughros Point.
Ard an Rátha, translates as ‘height of the fort’. The Irish Times in 2012 named it the best village to live in Ireland.
The town also hosts several festivals throughout the year including the Ardara Bluegrass Festival, a country and western weekend and Agricultural Show.
