Ballyliffin is a scenic tourist village nestled in the hills with splendid views of the Atlantic Ocean and Glashedy Island. The current population of the village is 426 (2016).
Visitors have a wide choice of accommodation in the village with several Hotels, B&B’s and self-catering accommodation available. There are also some excellent places to grab a bite to eat and for having a relaxing drink in the evenings.
The massive Pollan Bay beach is located in the village and is a short walk from the village the beach also has parking right beside it.
At the beach in amongst the dunes, you will find a lovely little play park. From the play park, there is a coastal beach walk to Carrickabraghy Castle.
Ballyliffen Golf club is beside the village with its two famous link courses, The Old Links and The newer Glashedy Links. In 2018 the Irish Open was held at the Ballyliffen course.
