Bridgend
Bridgend is a village on the border between Donegal and Derry and is located on the main Derry to Letterkenny road. Its population in 2016 was 454.
The village has a few shops, The Frontier Hotel, The 19th Hole bar, two cafes and two amusement centres.
Wild Ireland is a brand new wildlife sanctuary attraction opened in Oct 2019 and is open to the public. It specialises in animal species that were once native to Ireland, is very close to Bridgend.
Also close by is The IOSAS (the Island Of Saints And Scholars) Center & Celtic Prayer Garden which opened in 2006 with the aim to honour the men and women of Ireland’s “Golden Age” of 5th – 12th centuries and to renew interest in the characteristics of Celtic spirituality
The shortly to be built North West Greenway from Derry to Buncrana and Newtoncunningham will pass through the village.
