Killea is a very quiet village on the border between Donegal and Derry. In 2011 it had a population of 581. The Grianán of Aileach ring fort is only a short distance away as is the Monreagh Heritage Center a visitor attraction that explores the history of the Ulster-Scots in County Donegal.
As the village is only a short distance away from Derry, it has become a commuter village for the city.
