Lifford
Lifford is a small town in County Donegal situated on the banks of the River Foyle at the point where the River Finn meets the River Mourne. It has a population of approximately 1,500 people and is the administrative centre of Donegal.
Some notable attractions in the area include the Lifford Old Courthouse, which has been converted into a museum and escape room, the nearby Grianan of Aileach, a prehistoric ring fort that offers stunning views of the surrounding countryside and the ancient Beltany Stone Circle.
As well as the museum, the town has a multi-screen cinema and a Greyhound racetrack which newly reopened in 2023. The town of Strabane can be reached directly across the river.
