Wild Ireland
Step back in time into an ancient woodland inhabited by extinct creatures to experience some of Ireland’s ancient lost wildlife. Walk among the ancient trees and encounter Bears, Wolves, Lynx and Wild Boar on your journey through the past.
‘Wild Ireland’ is located on the Wild Atlantic Way and is the newest and most exciting visitor attraction in the North West of Ireland.
You can find the centre close to the main Burnfoot to Muff road, There are signposts for it on this road.
The wildlife sanctuary has been created by Killian McLaughlin fulfilling his lifelong dream. The animals in the Sanctuary would be ones that roamed Ireland in the past and which have been persecuted and hunted into extinction.
Wild Ireland offers a new home to many animals which have been rescued from a life of exploitation and abuse in circuses, roadside zoos, illegal pet trade and laboratories.
