Teach Mhuiris
Teach Mhuiris was built in1860 and was taken over and restored by the local community in the 1980s as the last living member of the original household died in 1979.
It is the only thatched cottage in the area and has been known to be a ‘’gathering/halfway house’’. It is a protected structure and it was re-thatched in 2005.
It is open to visitors during the summer months and there is no admission charge, but visitors can make a donation for the upkeep of this little piece of local history. The building is shared by Donegal Copper Craft, you can see the Facebook Page here.
