Croaghonagh Blanket Bog
The Croaghonagh Blanket Bog is one of the best examples of a lowland blanket bog habitat in Donegal and its restoration plays an important part in retaining this important habitat.
The main way that is used to restore the bog is to block the drains which were slowly drying out the area. This allows for the re-wetting of the surface of the bog and over time the area will return to what it was like before man’s interference.
