Our Lady Star of the Sea church

Our Lady Star of the Sea is a spectacular church near Fort Dunree in the townland of Desertegney.

opened in 1964 and built at a cost of £33,000 by renowned Greencastle architect Liam McCormick.

The church was designed in a boat shape, ship-shaped at one end and a peaked gable at the other. The windows are in the shape of portholes. The church is in a stunning location overlooking Lough Swilly.
