Urris Lakes Loop Walk
The Urris Lakes Loop Walk takes you high into the Urris hills and is a hard and rewarding 6.5 km walk, with outstanding panoramic views.
The climbs on this walk are hard and the ground can be very rough so this walk can be very physically demanding. Walking boots and hiking gear should be worn on this walk.
The walk follows a mix of bog road, ancient cart tracks and open country.
Start the walk at the lenan Beach car park following the black marker posts with purple arrows on a white background.
The start of the Urris Lakes Loop Walk is the same as the Lenan Loop Walk and is a steep climb into the hills and diverges from the other walk at the sheep pens and viewpoint, as this walk climbs further into the hills.
You will pass hidden lakes and you will also have an opportunity to visit the crash site of a WW2 Wellington Bomber which crashed in 1942. It then goes to the top of the hill with its fantastic views before returning back.
