Profile
Culdaff Beach
Culdaff Beach is an absolutely gorgeous Blue Flag Beach on the Northern coast of Inishowen overlooking the Atlantic Ocean. During the summer months, there are Lifeguards on the beach to ensure the safety of everyone who is using it. At the back of the beach, there is an extensive dune ecosystem.
The beach is only a short walk from the village of Culdaff or you can drive to the car park located right beside the beach. Beside the car park, there is a children’s play park.
The River Culdaff flows into the Atlantic on the eastern side of the beach, where you will also see Bunagee Pier, where you can go on boat trips for fishing or sightseeing during the summer months.
The south of the beach has rocky outcrops and is a good spot to see the great high waves crashing on the rocks. Also when the tide is out there are plenty of rock pools to go exploring with the kids.
Local Contemporary Irish Artist Sharon McDaid has some beautiful prints at her studio in Carndonagh like this one entitled “Tides Out, Culdaff”.
