Leenan to Dunree Coastal Path
The scenic Leenan to Dunree Coastal Path 6km trail connects Leenan Beach with the beach at Port Ban in Dunree. On this trail, you will immerse yourself in the beauty of the rugged Inishowen coastline, as you traverse this picturesque trail that winds along the edge of the sea, with stunning views over Loch Swilly and the Fanad Peninsula.
The first 3km of the trail is on a new path and takes you around the side of the Urris hills. The 2nd half of the trail is on the open hill, with waymarked posts to guide you along the way. this part of the trail is for experienced hillwalkers only with full hiking gear and poles.
The Leenan – Dunree Coastal Path was created by the North West Community Development -NWCD. A community group that is developing an extensive network of walking and cycling trails linking towns and villages across the Inishowen peninsula. You can go to their Facebook page here.
